Bleached Blond

Southeast of Medicine Hat, hidden amongst ordinary looking prairie, is a place that is definitely not ordinary. It’s called Red Rock Coulee and it is full of large boulders 7 feet or more accross. These sandstone concreations are strewn all over the coulee making this one of the most unique places that I have visited. I took this picture in the middle of a very dry hot summer and grass in the pasture beyond the coulee had been bleached blond by the sun.
