The Nature of Sand

SKSDH_0922full

I was just noticing something strange about 5 of my recent images from the Sandhills. They were all taken on the same weekend in the

same general area and the sand was the same colour at each spot, but the sand in each image is dramatically different in colour, ranging

from almost pink to almost blond. This is directly related to the quality of light that each was taken in, generally the lower the sun the

warmer the light will be and sand by its nature is very good at changing colour with the light.
