Paddling Companion

Often my only companion on early morning paddles are these beautiful birds. We are both hungry, the loons for fish

and I for the solitude and peace that only a dawn paddle on glassy water can bring.But sometimes when we meet on these mornings somewhere

out on the lake and spend some time in each others company I can’t help but get the feeling that the loons enjoy those quiet mornings as
