Simple Stump
Is it strange that one of my favorite pictures from the mountains is this simple stump, with nary a mountain in sight? Taken in the wind and rain on the last morning of a five day stay at Jasper, a 1/4 second exposure blurred the ripples and gave the water an unusual texture. I didn’t appreciate this picture fully until I cropped out the top and then the focus goes right to the lone stump and it just felt right. This, my first serious attempt at black and white, was actually an easy step to take because the colors in this picture were very muted to begin with.
