Hoping for Magic

The late Galen Rowell, a landscape photographer that I admired greatly, once wrote an article about the gnawing

rat in his gut that forced him to go the extra distance to get the image that he envisioned, he would literally run

miles up a mountain in the dark to a chosen location for a sunrise. After reading that article I realized that I too

have a rat in my gut, not a monster Norway rat like Galen had but a rat nonetheless, that gets me out of a warm

bed on a cold dark morning in the hopes of seeing something magical. This shot is for you Mr. Rowell.
