Follow The Leader

It has always been my experience that when I spot a big whitetail buck in the forest, even in a national park, I get a few short moments and

then he is gone. This buck and this morning where to prove very different.

I came across this guy on an early morning hike in Waterton national park, he was at the edge of a meadow and after we studied each other

for quite a long time, he slowly wandered back into the trees seemingly unconcerned by my presence. I decided to follow, not really holding

out much hope that he would let me get close enough for a good shot. Long story short, this buck let me spend almost 2 hours well within his

personal zone as we meandered around on an unforgettable Waterton morning!
