Photography Allowed

The beautiful Swainson’s Hawk is extremely common in southwest Saskatchewan, one of the many non-human residents to be happy about the skyrocketing gopher population. This particular immature hawk was quite tolerant of me and allowed many photographs to be taken while it was perched on a fence post. I was prepared and when it took off from the post I was able to get a few great “take off” shots as it flew into the late afternon sun.
