Open Mind

        Mother nature does not always give you what you are looking for but it’s important to keep an open mind while out looking for photographs. On the morning I took this shot I had been looking (unsuccessfully) for one of those grand mountain reflection shots in a beautiful calm lake and when that did materialize I noticed these dragonflies hovering in the morning sunlight along the edge of the lake. They each had a spot picked out and would hover in the area, chasing out any dragonfly intruders who got to close but lucky for me they were fine with my rowboat drifting in close enough for the shot. It ended up being an incredible morning thanks to these amazing little creatures.
